The Probiotic Study

The Probiotics study is a randomized controlled trial to determine the effectiveness and side effect profile of LGG (a probiotic) vs. placebo in children 3-48 months of age presenting to the Emergency Department with acute gastroenteritis. This study is conducted in 9 US sites belonging to the HRSA/MCHB funded Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) and funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health And Human Development (NICHD). This study is registered in ClinicalTrials.gov (#NCT01773967)
